As our Event Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all activities and operations of the Conversion/Event Services department, including Event Staff and all ice makes at the Rose Quarter. You and your team will support the setup and take down of internal and external events held at the Rose Quarter.

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Overseeing conversion timelines, goals, quality-assurance, and safety training of crews.
  • Confirms event information from Event Management and Production teams and directs department accordingly.
  • Converting the arena from one performance staging to the next performance staging.
  • Moving and setting up sports equipment, chairs and tables, bleachers, staging basketball floor, and hockey dashers and glass.
  • Delegation to Event Services crew (including in-house employees and temporary labor) and planning of daily work assigned for event set up.
  • Assisting with recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of all personnel disciplinary actions.
  • Confirms event information from Event Management and Production to direct department accordingly.
  • Works closely with the Facility Operations department to maintain equipment and ensure it’s in excellent working order.
  • Working with the Conversion/Event Services Manager to procure any necessary equipment for the Conversions Department.
  • Work closely with the conversion event shifts and overnight to ensure seamless interactions between crews.
  • Helping maintain proper storage of Conversion/Event Services Staff equipment, tools, and supplies as needed.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of conversion equipment as needed.
  • Working with department managers to procure any necessary equipment for the Conversions department.
  • Supporting in the development of departmental policies and procedures and implementation to ensure that the highest possible standard of operations is met and sustained
  • Making ice and paint for up to 10 hours.
  • Operate forklift and scissor lift as needed. 

 

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • 1 year of experience in a similar position, preferred
  • Forklift & scissor lift operator experience
  • You have the ability to work morning shifts (approx. 6am-3pm), including occasional nights, weekends and sometimes holidays.
  • Must be a strong leader through busy and slow times of the year.
  • Organized in multitasking of dealing with multiple size and type of events.
  • Experience in Microsoft office software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Calm and professional demeanor in an often-stressful environment.
  • Ability to understand and overcome adversities that may arise during and outside of events.
