As our Conversions Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our event spaces are ready and our equipment is functioning optimally. You will focus on the maintenance and repair of facility equipment used during event conversions, such as motors, chains, belted wheels, and gears. As part of the Conversions team, you will help transform our spaces for a variety of events while maintaining high operational and safety standards.

 

 

DAY-TO-DAY: 

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, including motors, chains, belts, gears, and other conversion systems.
  • Support the effective conversion of event spaces to ensure seamless functionality of all systems and structures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with safety and fire codes by proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation.
  • Collaborate with the Conversions Manager and other departments to ensure operational readiness for events.
  • Conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Supporting event setup and takedown by maintaining and troubleshooting systems as needed.
  • Documenting maintenance activities and updates. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment usage.
  • In collaboration with the Conversions Manager, maintain conversion timelines, goals, quality assurance, and crew safety training.
  • Assisting with the storage, inventory, and procurement of maintenance tools and supplies.
  • Providing technical guidance to crew members and supporting safety training efforts.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments (Event Services, Event Operations, Facility Operations, Production etc.) and contractors to maintain operational standards.
  • Assisting the Conversions Manager in the preparation of the monthly Conversion work calendar for cross-departmental use.
  • Assisting with recruitment, training, scheduling, payroll, and supervision of all personnel disciplinary actions.

 

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Have at least 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Can work overnight shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining facility equipment.
  • Have forklift and scissor lift operator experience or are willing to be forklift certified.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions quickly.
  • Are a strong leader, whether during busy or slow periods.
  • Are organized and able to multitask while managing multiple types and sizes of events.

WE’D BE THRILLED IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

  • Maintenance experience on large equipment or systems.
  • Certification or training in mechanical, electrical, or other relevant technical fields.
  • Familiarity with inventory management or maintenance tracking tools.
