As our Director, Ticket Sales you’ll play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through strategic oversight of Inside and Season Ticket Sales teams. This position entails developing comprehensive business plans, implementing effective sales strategies, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. The Director collaborates closely with the VP of Tickets and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and to facilitate the development of strong sales teams.

 

DAY-TO-DAY: 

  • Develop & implement holistic Ticket Sales business plans, training strategy, policies & procedures to exceed annual department revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Account Executives & other departments to develop & implement new strategies or initiatives to drive new package sales.
  • Provide consistent coaching & development to direct reports focused on sales fundamentals & skill development, leading to success in the role
  • Provide mentorship & leadership for the staff, focused on career development while fostering a feedback-rich culture
  • Lead the Season Ticket Sales function to achieve organizational goals and provide resources to prospect and close sales of all ticket packages.
  • Collaborate with Ticket & Premium Leadership to develop effective tracking programs while setting appropriate goals to accurately evaluate staff performance.
  • Work with Business Intelligence to consistently track, report, lead, and coach on individual and departmental sales pipelines.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop & implement prospecting campaigns through sales events or proactive email, social, call & in-person communication.
  • Meet with key clients, assisting Sales Managers & Account Executives with maintaining relationships and client meetings to close sales.
  • Manage Ticket Sales budget in partnership with Managers & VP, Tickets
  • Handle raised customer issues and complaints that advance beyond the Season Sales Team or Inside Sales

 

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience, ideally within the professional sports and/or entertainment industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of sales processes and customer dynamics.
  • 3-5 years of direct leadership experience in a sales capacity, with a focus on coaching and performance management, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and success.
  • Confirmed ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction both internally and externally with clients and collaborators.
  • Familiarity with CRM and ticketing systems is preferred, demonstrating the ability to use technology to enhance sales strategies and processes.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during the season and special events, to meet the demands of the role and support sales initiatives effectively.
  • A commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and market dynamics, maintaining current and reliable knowledge to advise strategic decision-making.

  • Experience in implementing innovative sales strategies and initiatives within the sports or entertainment industry, driving revenue growth and enhancing customer engagement.
  • Proficiency in analyzing sales data and metrics to inform decision-making and find opportunities for improvement, leveraging insights to optimize sales performance.
  • Previous experience working with a variety of ticketing and CRM systems, demonstrating adaptability and a capacity to learn new technologies quickly.
  • A passion for sports or entertainment, with a deep understanding of the industry landscape and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with fans and clients.
  • Experience working in a multicultural or diverse team environment, fostering collaboration and mutual respect across different backgrounds and perspectives.
